Might Be Out of Touch for a Little While...

Hey gang, so I am acting in a show this weekend here in Chicago called A Look Through Our Eyes. I'm really excited about the performances for the show as I feel that it is a very good and incredibly moving piece. What this means, however, is that I'm going to be in tech tonight and doing performances this weekend, so I won't have any time to post new stuff to the blog until Sunday. But after this weekend, I'm planning on kicking things off for the blog with a Trade Secrets on Chew vol. 1, a Put it Out to Pasture on Bendis's Avengers run, and a return of the All-time Awesome Lines from Comics spotlighting one of favorite on-going series The Walking Dead. So until then, I thought I would help tide you over with this screenshot from the hilarious blog Failbooking, from the people who brought us Failblog.org, and a link to their new site so you can go on there and ROTFL to your hearts content (I don't know what that means, I don't get most internet speak). Check it out:

Links You Should Know

April 16th - 18th, 2010. That is the opening weekend for something that I hope becomes an annual tradition here in Chicago, the Chicago Comics and Entertainment Expo (More commonly known as C2E2). C2E2 is going to be at McCormick Place this year, and this is the guest list that has been announced so far: Alex Ross, Geoff Johns, Steve McNiven, Steve Epting, Ethan Van Schiver, Mike Mignola, Mike Perkins, and many others. One of my favorite writers of comics all-time (Johns) and my two favorite artists (McNiven and Ross) are all at the same comic-con, which equals me spending lots of money. Anyway, it is today's Link You Should Know because I am super-excited about this and I think that you should be too.

The Chicago Bears: Committed to Mediocrity

*Warning Angry Rant* I wanted to write this before I calmed down, since I know that when I do I'll manage to talk myself into believing that somehow the Bears have a chance to be great next season, when really the Bears have just made a move that guarantees a losing record in 2010 already. That's right. Lovie Smith is back next season as the Bears Head Coach. Hit the jump for the bile.

My Show Opens on Friday!

Hey, so this is just a quick and unabashed plug, but if you live in or around the Chicago area and enjoy theater, I figured I'd go ahead and post this here too. I am appearing in A Look Through Our Eyes at Gorlla Tango Theater this weekend, January 8th and 9th at 10pm, and next Saturday, January 16th at 6pm. The play is a monologue show about 9/11 that deals with real people's reactions, thoughts, feelings about September 11th and the events that happened after it. The cast is great and I've really enjoyed working on this show, so if you like my blog than you'll love watching me act! Come see it!

Trade Secrets: Old Man Logan

The thing that is really awesome about Christmas every year is that since my family knows that I am a huge comic book fan, every year I get two or three trades that I'm really interested in. This year, I got as a present The Boys Vol.s 4 and 5, as well as the over-sized hardcover of Mark Millar and Steve McNiven's Old Man Logan. I'm going to post a review of all of these books in time, but I wanted to start off with Old Man Logan because I really liked it (I named it Miniseries of the Year) and the last Trade Secrets was about the Boys so I figured I'd mix it up a little bit before doing my review of another The Boys volume. Hit the jump for the review.
